Packing out pig question

Packing out pig question
I was wondering, since i'm new to hunting, when you guys kill a pig and pack it out do you gut it first or wait til you get back?

Why would you bother carrying out a bunch of guts? We always debone the pig on the spot and just bring back pillow cases of meat. If we're real close to the truck and its a smaller pig than we'll gut it and pack the whole thing to clean it at home where its a lot cleaner.

Thanks. Yeah i've done the pillow case thing with goats. I was just curious cuz I see all the pics of the guys packing em out but couldn't tell if was gutted.

It depends on the size of the pig, How much guys you get capable of packing? Are you harvesting for a tournament??How far is the truck?? It really depends on the situation and how bad you like take the "whole" pig out. Always can gut and put on one poncho or trash bag if you worried bout the blood!

guttem in the mountain and packem out if no can packem then debone........ otherwise truck bound with the hog on your back. stabbin, packin, rackin hogs just da name of the game.
