I got a call from a friend in Wahiawa last night. while in Wahiawa he ran into the land own that owns behind the ranch. I guess the ownner was up there last night and some one was running dogs (the dogd had cut collars). He called the dogs over and they were by his truck. He got out his 30-30 and was going to shoot both of them but his young grandaughter was in the truck. I have been transfered to Hilo for the next two years and i'm looking to do some bow/ gun hunting (hog, bird, goat, sheep). I have never hunted in this kind of enviroment before and i'm looking for a little help geting started. Tomorrow morning i plan to visit some public land a try to do some scouting. I'm hoping i find some sign and then i'll go from there...

I was contacted by the guy who makes these game koolers. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in something like this?

Works great for pigs and even when you go out island for deer/sheep. He wants to get them out on the market and would be willing to sell them at whole sale cost ~$200.00 I would like to bring them all in at the same time so let me know. Even if your not interested now, do you think this product would show interest in Hawaii?

I just moved to Manoa from the north shore of Kauai and brought my bow along with me. I'm living up near the chinese cemetary and was wondering if bowhunting is allowed anywhere in the valley. I remember hearing something about being able to hunt in the back of manoa...where can i get more info about this? Any other decent spots around here for the bow?

I was wondering if any one could share their experience with hunting when there is a full moon. I'm guessing that when there is a full moon or nearly full (waxing/waning), that hogs/game feed later in the evening limiting their daylight activity. Any thoughts?

and taken pigs out of traps.

went up to makua today and got within 20 yards of three billys. Took a risky shot and lost. The arrow defected off a branch and crashed into the rocks. I did find a Major highway the Billys are using and now I can set up a ambush

I have a life long dream of bow hunting Elk in the mainland. I'm looking for any information anyone can provide on places to hunt Elk. It would need to be a location that has public hunting and over the counter tags.

My thoughts are to put together a Hawaii hunting party and travel there as a group work as a team and kill some mainland critters!!! For my part it will take some planning/saving so I'm probably looking at next Elk season.
