Hey guys,
I've been stationed here for awhile but I've been deployed and in training a lot of it. But finally things are starting to slow down so I'm trying to hunt some boar and what not here. I'm from Ohio and have been an avid hunter for a long time back in Ohio, pretty much hunted religiously lol. Just trying to see where everyone hunts here, not trying to get anyone's secret spots or anything lol. Just trying to see what areas people pull pigs from and maybe looking for a hunting partner if anyone is interested.

Try the Pali archery unit. Have some one drop you off though as that is auto theft central. Do a little scouting and set up a feeder and the pigs will show up! If you are on Schofield try ask about the animal control hunts.

Tyler,

Area "f" is archery only as previously stated and does offer chances to get a pig. There is lots of sign and i have seen quiet a few pigs. They are very skittish do to the hikers and hunting pressure. It will take some patience an time to locate a good/safe spot. There are trails on the east side of the area and it gets a lot of foot traffic. I got a pig there last Friday finally Smile. It is pretty thick and I found it difficult to spot and stalk, so I hung a feeder and about two weeks later the hogs come in just about every day. I wouldn't advise u put anything in there that u like to much because it will walk off.

If u don't have any luck let me know and I am willing to share some of my secrets Smile

I'm in the exact same boat. I've been on island for almost two years now and I've been deployed for a year of it already. So Tyler if you want a hunting buddy just as green as you are to pig hunting on oahu then feel free to hit me up.

Or if anyone else wants a hunting partner feel free to hit me up. Hell, at this point I'm willing to pay someone to get on a big pig. I really don't want to leave without at least sticking one with my bow.

Yeah it's a little rough getting used to the terrain here, I'm used to open woods and fields. This dense wood makes it more difficult. I just want to really get into hunting here.
