I thought it would be good to post, even if this happened a few years back. TNC brought in PRO-HUNT, a professional hunting outfit from New Zealand to help eradicate pigs on Moloka'i, completely snubbing the local hunters of Moloka'i, who for generations had a long relationship with the land like the beautiful Pelekunu Valley. And who had worked with TNC in managing the feral pig problem. For some reason or another, TNC claimed that the Moloka'i hunters methods were ineffective, and brought in an outfit from New Zealand. Molaka'i hunters were outraged and slighted by this rude display of cultural inappropriateness. Knowing this history is important. Always remember, never forget.
