Curious - PURE BULLS??

I'm just curious... How many of you guys out there run pure bulls with your pack??? Since I've started hunting I have had three bulls that I owned that I brought hunting. There's no doubt in my mind that they have saved the lives of my trackers many times over. That's not to say that my trackers can't stop pig on their own but I have always been comfortable with a pure bull just for peace of mind. Over the years I have met and come across many different hunters on Oahu and have found that most either have a pure bull or a bull mix in their pack.  Again, I was just curious... I guess more so because I am contemplating on getting another one for my pack being that my current bull is getting at that "age" and is starting to slow down a bit... Aloha -Chad

Yea chad I would! Running bulls is good they grab hard and yes take the hit for the trackers! As of me I got all mix breeds but they grab just like bulls but yea any dog u know that going str8 in and grab hard is good. As of me I would run the red nose bulls! To me there more better for hunting shoots chad call me up if anything I get same number

Raja Shannon. Yeah the bull I looking at next coming from Ande, a red nose bitch. Lole kinda slowing down a little but still grab ruff as hell. Her son is doing damage to the hogs now giving the mom some comps but together they are unbeatable.... was thinking about grabbing one of the boys but for bulls, I prefer females instead. AND YEAH I GOTTA TRY THEM APPLEHEADS!!!! LOL... BETTER I JUST GRAB JON'S LITTLE MUTT I THINK HE GET... LOL. Thanks brother, have a good one.

Yea chad I would run one bitch they not as punchy as the boys but then again it's on the up bringing

I prefer Bull X's, Only because the pure 1's I've ran or ran with haven't impressed me as far as being able to work multiple nice size pigs in a hunt! 2 or 3 they already winded and need a minute, 4-5 They lock but laying down exhausted and end up hurt this way! I was missing my Bull X dogs and recently decided to pick up another, We'll see how she does!

Good luck on your bull x's brother. Yeah, I agree with you totally. For me and my crew, we push as much as we can but once we catch one good size one, we are more than satisfied.... lol. The cooler with beer starts screaming for us to ansa after that. Caught multiple pigs many times but for us to just be in the mountain is a blessing.... good luck and be safe.... Chad

Might as well. We had one pure pitbull that was the best hunting dog we had ever seen at the time. Usually they are a bit too slow, which is why it's good to breed them with something quicker and get a faster dog with more stamina that grabs. But if you just take one along, they make for a great anchor.
