Discussion: Feeding Garlic To Your Dogs

Post  KVB on Fri Dec 13, 2013 3:30 am

was wondering what others think about adding GARLIC to your dog's feed?
old timers have done it for years and advise that its a good thing to do.
but i've heard other opinions that say that GARLIC isn't good at all.

what do you think?

i use ivermectin or ivomec too. i think the only worms it can't tap out are those mma tapeworms...hahaha. just kidding. but, thats whats said about ivermectin which is used along for other uses to prevent heartworms in dogs.

i just started using garlic again and i read that we should actually be smashing the garlic cloves before chopping them up, i guess to get the juices flowing. its hard day after day doing the garlic thing because if you are feeding more than a few dogs, it can be time consuming sitting there getting the garlic chopped up. i guess its worth it though.

right on, thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with garlic, Lockaz!!!

Garlic can be used for allergic dermatitis (Atopy) as it contains chemicals that can reduce the production of inflammatory prostaglandins. Garlic is Also used as a cardiovascular tonic in preventing blood clots. Studies have shown that garlic May also be helpful for dogs with heart disease or High blood cholesterol. While scientic proof is lacking there has been evidence the garlic combined with nutrional yeast is used to control fleas. Garlic is recommended for dogs with tapeworms; it has shown effects against roundworms and hookworms in people. NOW THE GOOD STUFF. Too much garlic can be toXic to your dog causing Heinz body anemia. The label on Any commercially prepared product should always be followed, most notably for flea control products. Feeding fresh garlic use One glove per 10-30 lbs of body weight per day. Do not use in dogs with anemia . Do not use in dogs scheduled for surgery due to the possibilty of increased bleeding times. Tropical applications can cause skin irritation and even third degree burns If applied directly to skin . Should the dog develop excess intestinal gas reduce the amount given. And try not to Give garlic the same time as ginko or High dose vitamin E cause it May induce bleeding problems.

ok heres my take....not that it means anything...lol......i used use garlic....minced the kind you buy in a jar at the store....the one that has a lot of juice in it......i only used it on pups.... do you know how much garkic you would have to feed a full grown dog to rid it from round worms.......and only round worms ...you would have to wear a gas mask around tye kennels ...your neighbors would think you opened a pizzaria...fact....garlic work....fact pupies can rid round worms....fact third world countries have been using garlic to rid worms in kids......bigger fact every time your dogs shit in the mountain the trees bend over and die.....your kennels smells like a block in the heart of brooklyn......just use ivomac....theres a reason why we have progressed from garlic.lol

If your going to deworm your dogs of all worms, and I assume you have as much dogs as i do thats allowed by law without a breeders permit, and you live paycheck to paycheck Like the rest of us, your better option for deworming is to go to the feedstore and by the Panacur (fenbendazole) Equine dewormer in the 25 gram paste 10%. This covers ALL WORMS and you can pretty much over Give the paste without worrying about over dosing. Very large margin for error. I only Give ivomec for heartworm issues, never as a dewormer. Altough, it does kill hook, ascarid (roundworm) , and whip it doesnt cover tape worm. Only If the ivomec has pyrantel pamoate in it then it would cover everything. But it doesnt. Dont take my or anybodies Word for t. DO YOUR RESEARCH. Then you going be Like me still researching. Nah, hopefully this information will help you save money and Keep your crew top notch. ALOHA.
