cut dog

i was wondering of wat ada hunters prefer fo do wen ur hounds get cut up in one battle.. Staples or stiches? super glue?

For me it all depends on the type of cut theres some variables to consider with different types of cuts.

i use folss and it might sound nasty but i put mouth wash it kills 99.9% of germs and some cry and some just take it try and see if it works

It really depends on the cut and what it looks like and where it is located on the dog. If the dog can reach um and lick it and there is no guts hanging or anything then can just leave um and give Hydrotherapy twice a day and it should heal up. I do have Chromic gut sutures in my pack along with some floss and extra needles but don't like to close up the wound and cause an abcess that will have to be reopened and drained later.

STAPLES UNTILL YOU CAN WORK ON IT GOOD,ANY JOB IS A GOOD JOB UNLESS HE'S DEAD...

I use staples if big cut and i leave one opening fo drain so that when heal not goin get one abcess with puss. If small cut i use crazy glue or super glue. If i run out of staples, i use regular sewing thread but i dunno how fo sew and my wife cannot handle seeing the dogs all buss up so my 15yr old daughter sew up the dogs fo me. The glue and staples work good, i usem on myself too... ....no need wait hours and waste time in the emergency room jus fo few stitches.....

i only use staples in the mountain as soon as i get home Suture all the way....done right nothing is stronger

What ever it takes to get the job done. If you hunt, hopefully you are prepared! If not, what would you rather use- one old dirty wire off the ground, maybe you might have to one day. Or, would you rather use something that is clean and sterile and that you packed in? Always be prepared, because it will get nasty one day in the mountain with one pilau boar.
