Smokers Empty Smokers

Post  huntachad Sun Mar 14, 2010 5:48 am

In the process of making a smoker out of a locker that a friend gave to me. Interested in some of the ideas of how to set up the smoker. Pictures would be very useful. Also do you guys smoke your meat as soon as you catch the pig or do you freeze the meat first and then smoke it later? Any kind of input would be appreciated. Alohaz - Chad

Here is a good website http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/showthread.php?t=284836 to get an idea on how to get started. You can order some of the supplies needed thru Cabelas, look under the "Shop by catagory" for the "Food & Food Prep" and once selected, under "Food Processing" select "Smokers & Accessories". The biggest thing to remember it to make sure that all plastic parts are removed prior to use. Burnt plastic releases harmful chemicals that you don't want to end up on what you are going to be eating. Hope this helps.
