food for the trail

Hey guys I thought I would share this with you.

Got a recipe off the internet and tweeked it some. These are ono and easy to pack. They are just like clif bars

In big bowl

2 cups uncooked oats
2 cups rice crisp cereal
½ cup finely chopped roasted peanuts
6 tblsp flaxseed meal (ground flaxseed)


in small saucepan
1 tsp salt
½ cup honey
4 tsp molasses
½ cup finely chopped dates
2 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup peanut butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon

heat this stuff up till it gets viscous.

Mix together with dry stuff

Mash into 9 x 13 baking pan.

Let it cool

Cut it into 16 pieces

Wrap with saran wrap

If im still hunting i like to munch on some corn nuts... regular flavor. i purposely crunch them with my mouth open and as loud as i can. The pigs hear it and think they are missing out on some grinds... they come running in to see what all the crunching is about. It also is a good scent cover. Only downside to this method is I cracked a tooth.

I just go 7-11 and buy 1 musubi, 1 menehune water, 1 pack sun flower seeds and I'm good for the whole day.shoots Glimmer man out.
