to all the huntaz if you buy one gamol pellet gun for hunt the D.L.N.R no can say any thing because you no need one gun licesen's for one pellet gun but this gun is one of the good guns for hunt........2000 yds more powerful than the 22.............

That may one nice rifle, but SERIOUSLY---DON'T GO HUNT HOGS WITH THAT!!!!! It doesn't have the power to reliably kill an animal in most situations. That video was put together by a manufacturer, and probably shows an expert shot using a rifle in a controlled situation.

If you think DLNR can't get you, you are wrong. They'll bust you so fast, your shadow won't even be able to catch you. The state hunting regs state "When hunting without dogs, hunters may use any rifle with a muzzle energy rating of 1,200 foot pounds or more; shotguns loaded with 00 or larger buckshot and muzzleloader rifles with a minimum of 0.45 caliber bore diameter (Breech loaders may not be used during muzzleloader only designated hunts). "

The key phrase here is "muzzle energy rating of 1,200 foot pounds or more." Muzzle energy is calculated by the formula 1/2 the mass times the velocity squared. A lead .177cal pellet weighs 8.4 grains, and gamo's own website says that will only get you 1000fps. Their platnium ammo gets higher velocity but is lighter. Plug those stats for a lead pellet into a muzzle velocity calculator, and you are only getting 18.65 ft/lbs of muzzle energy, push that same 8.4 grain bullet to 1600ft/sec (not likely with the air rifles out today) and you are up to 47.74 ft/lbs. Still not anywhere near enough muzzle energy for legally hunting with it.

If you want one of these for shoot da chickens then fine, but don't try go hunt with one....

what if the pig rush u would u rather have 1 pellet or a bullet ? wat would u be more confident puting yourz and or dogz life on da line ?

yah idk if i would actually take it hunting, but my gfs dad does have one and shoots the wild pigs in his pig pen with it, pretty funny, but it does do the job

I been busted and went to teen court and the works for shooting chickens with a pellet gun. The have compressed air guns (pcp) that shoot large bullets (70-80gr) at 900fps and are capable of downing large game. But the little 8gr pellets are not for hog hunting. Get a 22mag if you want a little round, 22mag is legal as long as you have dogs too.

Just an FYI if youre gonna purchase a firearm you NEED a permit to acquire, If you already have one you DONT NEED any type of license per se to have it. Depending on purchase date it MAY OR MAY NOT need to be REGISTERED.
