i'm glad they repealed the PLDC, it was HEWA from the start.
i hope it stays DEAD and doesn't come back under a different name,
modified a bit and again tried to be pushed through.
mahalo to you and to everyone who is maka'ala to this kind stuff.

Hey Nic,
I hope all is well for you. Mahalo's to everyone who gave their testimonies for the Repeal of this Bill which was just a smoke screen of a legal form of EXTORTION, I urge everyone who lives in the Central area of Honolulu on the next election to vote out their Councilman "Donovan Delacruz" who introduced this Bill out of office. "HAWAII 78"

PLDC (Act 55) has been repealed
The Public Land Development Corporation was created in a stealth manner and
repealed in the same way.
Yesterday 4/22 Governor Abercrombie signed HB 1133 via email that repealed Act 55 and the PLDC.
No press conference, no fanfare and only a low-key press release.
That lack of publicity, plus Governor Abercrombie's comment below, suggests that he still believes Act 55 to be a good law but that our wave of vocal, passionate, negative public opinion/concern forced him to repeal it:
"As with any new law, public understanding and support are essential. In the case of the PLDC, best intentions and the potential for public good could not be reconciled with public concerns."
