Let's see it Trapping- Aurrrrrryte

Well, about a month ago, Bradda Paka and I got to set up a trap where a resident was concerned about pigs coming into his property and scaring his kids. He told me that a herd (couple of sows and piglets) would come into his yard and dig up his grass and that his mother in law goes for walks and see's the pigs. For their safety, he wanted them gone. So Paka and I set up a trap and baited it. Anxiously waiting for a call, nothing happened until this weekend. I got the call at approximately 0730. The owner said he thought it was a boar. Now I'm thinking cool, small boar;since he didn't mention boars being around before. When I showed up this guy was pissed off, holy crap!

Looks bigger than he weighed, 98 lbs. dressed.

Nice one. Did you guys use a snare? I just got an email about a family wanting to eradicate some pigs on the land and i'm gonna go out there with my bow but wanna set up some snare's too. I was wondering how to rig a snare cuz I never have. any good pointers? Sorry,I don't mean to jack your thread.

Kauai808- No we didn't snare, I personally don't care for snares, they have to be checked often and the pig will sometimes chew off a limb to escape.

Yeah last night and yesterday was miserable weather mean soak and wet BIGTIME!!! !!!

But eh its all good gotta take da good with the bad eh thats how it goes im just glad im in the mountains I get sad when I gotta leave too bad no can just stay up hea and live off da aina !

hooked up with this one last night. was at uncles house, got the call on the way home. hog tied um and threw um in the back of the truck. was going put him in the cage when he went buckle loose and started running. good thing i caught him, would be bumma's if one pig running down the middle of the road. anyways, was holding him down, now no more nuff hands. wife had to blade um. it was her first pig ever.see tripped on how easy the blade when shoyu chicken of um. 65# boar


funny note: i told her for grab one knife, she came back with 1 steak knife and one butter knife. how you figga. got's to learn um

aloha bradaz ,one flower nursery owner gave me one call ,pigs bustin up his farm,gave me the ok to trap-um,but no dogs,no weapons,no groups of people,an no killing on the farm,he neva like the PETA lady next door find out she make plenty pilikia ,,so i siad shoootz ,past year an a half caught 18 pigs some big some small,saw a heard of almost 50 pigs "no joke"thats just one heard,but i just got shut down some huntaz got caught an she called the cops an the dlnr,now they patrol there all the time an bust anybody,i heard dlnr was setting traps an relocating some of the pigs,but all good things must come to an end,,,thats cool,,,heres some pics of them at my pen at my house
