What traits/characteristics suits your superstition

Wanted to know what traits/characteristics you guys look for on a dog, i.e. extra toes on back legs, purple tongue, and white tip on the tail is all I heard about. Still don't know what the white tipped tail means though, good or bad

I heard of some guys looking under the neck of the dog and count the whiskers sometimes get 1 somestimes get three but i dont know what they mean...To me as long as he action he go....
