Pig Hunting Mentor Needed

Aloha everybody, this is my first post. I'm kind of new to hunting, used to kick around in the woods back home and shoot squirrels, but I've always wanted to get more into it. I need someone to show me the ropes. I'd like to get started hunting pig here on Oahu, where I live. I've been here about a year and a half. I've already got my HI hunting license, a rifle and a shotgun, and I'm ready to go. I'm 30, and from WV, and I've been in the Army for about 10 years.
From what I get from most people here on the island asking there isn't a lot of gun hunting that goes on here on Oahu, it's mostly dog and knife from what I understand.
Anybody out there willing to give the new guy a good start?

just study the rules and regs, find a spot that you can hunt with a rifle and start hiking! Go slow or you'll scare any game you come across.

Thats how it is on this site, A lot of people just cruzum just for find information. I am not from Oahu, but I would suggest getting a Bow. Maybe you can make enough money to fly to outer islands and hunt there for the weekend.
