WTB 243 or 270 or 270 wsm
Im looking for a 243, or 25-06, 270 or 270 wsm. Either Weatherby Vanguard Stainless or Remington 700 stainless. Either brand is fine, bbl length doesnt matter, stock doesnt matter (it can be busted or crappy), as long as the action and barrel in great condition in stainless steel.

Re: WTB 243 or 270 or 270 wsm
thanks for the help, but i only need either a remmy or weatherby....the reason only those 2 is i already have 3 laminated stocks (boyds and stocky) that i want to drop a gun in....more specifically a Rem 700 LA and SA and Weatherby Vanguard SA. I wanted a small caliber because its for my daughter and stainless so it matches up well with the stocks. To expand my search i would also do a 25-06 since its a small bullet but in a LA. Thanks

Howzit Medic, No problem I understand! How old is your daughter? Ive had 3 270 WSM and although its a medium caliber Its not the mellowest recoiling caliber if you know what I mean. Depending of course on your daughters limits for such things I would go with the 243 or something along those lines. I see what I can do to help you out goodluck in finding something. Good stocks what style stocky stock do you have Ive got a few as well as boyds too. What color you got? Pepper maybe since those match stainless well? also the barrel channel inlet is something to consider but it can be opened up if its a sporter style inlet for a heavier barrel.
Anyway right on good on you getting your daughter involved an all!

Re: WTB 243 or 270 or 270 wsm
hey Muns....ready for a good laugh---shes 5 months old lol...its my excuse to my wife for buying another gun haha. Yea if i was going to get a 270 or any of the wsm id probably put a muzzle break on it just so recoil wouldnt be an issue but i wanted a caliber that had some latitude as far as bullet choices. I reload my rifle and a buddy does our shotguns (which is really beneficial since moving out here 3 yrs ago- premium ammo is hard to get and pricey-reloading is almost out of neccesity). I go to montana every year for rifle/archery
bear, elk, antelope,moose...so i wanted to get a light cal. i could load a heavier round if me and her in the future went - she could still nail an antelope, whitetail, muley or smaller cow elk. A 25-06 or 257 weatherby wouldnt be bad either. The Bodys is just a regular stock rem 700 LA in a discontinued color called circus. The stockys are same color but thumbhole style.
