I feel your pain
I've already had two pvc feeders stolen. I mean come on!! taking a PVC feeder?????? Thats the only reason I'm not going to buy a trail cam. Spend all that $$ to get it stolen or broken because they couldn't steal it, no thanks. I grew up in areas where hunters respected each other and their property, but obviously that doesn't happen here.
I have no problem with anyone that comes across my gear and hunts over it when I'm not there. Hell, go ahead and sit in my treestand if you like, thats what its there for... BUT, to just steal it all together!!!

Re: Da old spot
I've had three feeders and cameras stolen. And had my truck broken into. busted out the passenger window. That was more expensive than the feeders/cams being stole. Each time sucks just as much as the first.

Re: Da old spot
Bummers. Hey, they might come back. All the recent pig tracking studies I've had the inside scoop on through work showed that pigs have a very small home range that they prefer to stay in for life (or at least they do when there is plenty food). Had a few incidents where they documented hunters passing close to the study pigs and each time what ended up happenning was that the pig must have heard the hunters pass by, and soon after went to investigate. Upon running across their scent, the pig would head back to its private den (which it seams to use repeatedly) and stay put, moving around about half as much as it ordinarily would to feed over the next day or two. ...idk, I though you guys might find that interesting. Don't know if it applies to most pigs, most everywhere but it happenned three for three in the studies.
Pig's in Hiding
Although I'm relatively new to this pig huntin game, I sympathize with your plight. I had what appeared to be a stray dog run through my trail cam (see pic) and noticed an immediate and prolonged effect on my pigs feeder visiting patterns. All of the 6-8 hogs that were visiting regularly stopped comming by. After about 1 week a new boar showed up and 2 weeks later some of the old crowd began reappearing. Some scouting around after the 'dog incident' revealed a total lack of fresh sign throughout the area. The only sign I could find was concentrated up high near their bedding areas. It seemed that they shrunk their home range/movements rather than relocating to adjacent territory. If they are continuing to use the same bedding areas than reason suggests they should eventually come back. In my case, this has been paritally true with several of my origional gang having made an appearance. My overall stand activity has continued to be down since this incident but I have trouble attributing this entirely to a single dog. Maybee the beast in picture number 2 is to blame LOL.

Da old spot continued
This bad boy was coming to my spot then these two mutts showed up. Didn't think anything of it until I went up to hunt the spot and washed out three times (nothing-nadda). In this case, I think the slop I was taking up attracked the near by dogs. No more slop here.

Re: Da old spot
my expirence is like Nic said. Most of the time it takes about two weeks for things to start to get back to normal. I try and use alot of smell attractants to lure them back in. Usually they will come back unless pressured over and over. just my 2cents
