New to archery on Maui. Looking for guidance

Howzit hunters, I'm looking for a little guidance in archery and bow hunting here on Maui. I've been here for about 15 years and am an avid fisherman and spearfisherman and want to move my hunting to the mountains. I just got my first bow and am getting it set up right now and want to learn the proper way to target shoot and hunt for sheep, pig and dear from some guys who know the ropes here.
Not asking for lessons or a babysitter (unless you are offering) just need some pointers so I don't do anything stupid.
I live west side Maui, in Kahana but will cover the whole island for a chance to learn and practice.

I live upcountry (Pukalani), and have a friend who is also new to archery coming to my house twice a week to shoot. If you'd like to join us you are welcome to come shoot.
