Protest HILO

On June 1 st 2012 at 7:00 to 8:30 am and again at 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm @ DLNR on Kilauea ave we are holding a hunting protest for the land being taken away in Kau and Puu makaala . On June 2nd 2012 in NAALEHU @ 10:00 am to 1:00 pm DLNR is holding a public hearing to hear public comment on taking the Kau land . This hearing in Kau is like the one they did quietly about taking Puu makaala. That hearing is for them to say look nobody oppose it so they don't care n they take it. Hunters from all over our state n on the big island need to come together n oppose this land grab before Kau gets taken like all the others in the past . Braddah n sisters we need to come together n support one another and voice our opinion n facts . PELE DEFENSE FUND WILL BE THERE . Also if folks want to come n give there donation to the hunting law suit can do it at that time if they wish . But most important we need to come strong n support each other . Are they required to let Pele Defense Fund know when they change the time of the meeting Joe? Ka'u town as of last night at 10 pm was under the impression it was going be June 2 at 8 PM, These guys trying to change the time of the meeting so everyone show up wrong time I think! Do they post the info for the meeting anywhere so everyone can see um as they change the time? Gotta know when to tell everyone they can oppose!

Yes, changing times and dates is a common tactic they use to avoid mtg with opposers. Been there dont that many many times!

I went down Ka'u last weekend and the flier was posted on the window of the 76 gas station in town but then when I got home I couldn't remember what time it said so I called a few friends yesterday and they said they heard the time has been changed and as far as they know it was at 8! I believe they only can make changes up until a certain time before the meeting? I'm hoping this is true and we can find out what time they set it at soon so everyone interested can show up! I'll be in Ka'u all day if gotta either way I am hoping to attend this meeting!

Best to call DLNR office in hilo and we get it straight from them .808-961-9590 everybody should call flood there office with calls n grumble about what the hell you people doing by keep taking land . ENOUGH

974-4221 is the Forestry # guys and they're saying 10AM-1PM June 2nd is when the meeting will be held!

I spoke to DLNR today n yes meeting is from. 10:00 am to 1:00 pm in naalehu community center . Spoke with Ron terry on the phone n yes Kau they want your land n they are going to fence n eradicate . Hope to see everybody there n at DNLR Friday June 1st 7 to 830 am n again 4 pm

We protesting in hilo tomorrow guys at DLNR 7am to 8:30 am and same day 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm . Folks come and be NOTICE AND HEARD , Hawaii is watching .

The first half of the protest in front DLNR (Hilo) was a good turn out of people . We had hunters, fishermen , community support , TJ from RUSTYBOAR doing video , PELE DEFENSE FUND and there supporters and lots of kids REPRESENTING AND SUPPORTING OUR CULTURE N TRADITION .We going back again today @ 4 pm to 6 pm to protest again. Looking forward to seeing you there n tomorrow in Naalehu community center at 10 am to 1:00 pm to oppose DLNR land grab in Kau forest reserve . Much Mahalo's

Second part of today protest went good . Thanks to everybody who came out. Tribune herald came so it will be interesting to see what they print .
