wassup. this forum is good and helpful. will I been shooting for like 5 months now I just started to hunt I jus got my frist pig, 80# last month.will anyway I was woundering how long can you not gut the pig after you shoot it.before the meat goods bad?(say shot in the lungs or in the stomach). then how long or what is the best time to place the meat in the freezer? cause when I got home the last and only one I got and skined it the meat was still hot warm. thanks for helping me.

I would say its always best to gut it ASAP. How long is that? LOL ......... Well as soon as you find find em I guess. I have done the " we better come back in the morning" tracking jobs and the meat was fine.

Gut as soon as possible. the sooner the better
I cut my meat and place in the refrigrator for 4 to 5 days this allows the meat to keep the natural break down process. Then I freeze the meat becomes very tender. and when cutting your meat remember to cut against the grain and not with it

When bow hunting and I'm fairly close to the truck I just drag it out and gut at home where I can keep the meat nice and clean.
