need tips

hey guys im just looking for a few tips on where to go and what to use for bait. i just got to oahu and started going out but so far all i catch is eel. ive been using squid and it seems like the fish are not into it. im not trying to get ure hot spots but mabee an ok place to fish. mahalo

Try use fresh ika just open um up clean da insides take da skin out from da outside cut um 1/2 inch strips good to go! papio moanakali any kine going bite! Try um.for da eel kill um good ulua bait.

Don't know what your after but my suggestion would be to try whipping artificial lures like the castmaster or pili plug lure or even plastic grubs (scroungers). They work pretty well and an eel won't race thru the open water to try to grab it. Free swimming live bait or even whipping with squid. It's when the bait is stagnant like when slide baiting or dunking that the eels come out in force. Anyways my 2 cents.

thanks guys i went out last night and finally cought some fish. Even tho im not sure what they were. looked like a little jack with yellow fins. i was useing fresh shrimp. but i will try the plugs , castmaster. thanks again guys.

As long as they're 10" nose to fork keep up and pan fry whole!

ya that was them. 10 inches ok ill remember for next time. heading out in a few mins to try a new spot mabee it with produce some eaters.
