BOAR IN DA SADDLE
Aloha guys,
Took a break from running the dogs this weekend and did some bowhunting with one of my nephews. We headed off to the Pohakuloa military training area for the day in search of some horn. Saw plenty of game and about the same amount of hunters! LOL!
My nephew got himself a billy and missed on a mouflon ram. All in all it was a good day to be out. The area is very dry and dusty not to mention the heat, by far not the best conditions, it made me wonder what in the world was this guy was doing out there?[url=
My nephew with a raunchy, rusty ole' Laho'ole 8 1/2" total tusk length. Cant really see it in this pic but he had a fairly large frame on him it seems he saw better days though, he was thin and lost alot of weight. I can only imagine what this bad boy must have looked like in his prime! I wondered what he was feeding on in this arid wasteland. The only thing I could come up with was the newborn baby goats that we saw plenty of or the gut piles of bowhunter kills in the field. Who knows? The mystery makes the memory even better!
Aloha
