What type of feeder systems?
Ive been scouting up in E. Manoa Valley and seen a couple mental wallows and trail crossings. What type of feeder systems do you guys use? I am thinking about setting one up.

mine one
i use a 6 or 7 gal bucket used for chlorine tablets for your pool and attach a digital feeder (american hunter, cabela's). then load it with whole corn. make sure to lock up your gear. had a couple of my sets get ripped off. it's the sickest feeling to find all your stuff gone. good luck

how do you lock it? run a long bike lock around a big enough tree that they can't chop through?

never figure it out yet. next set going up 16-20 feet in the air with one collapsable tree ladder. then take the ladder off the tree. takes some time an inconvenience. but worth the time and less worrying. plus had a trail cam stolen with the bike lock on it.

DAMN THIEVES! thats the #1 reason I dont put up feeders or use cameras anymore!
Re: What type of feeder systems?
you guys ever use the kind that has a small hole on the bottom of a 5gal bucket that sits flush on the ground but hangs from above? The pigs bang the bucket and it lifts off the ground and drops a little bit of corn each time. That way you're only losing like 6 bucks for the bucket and rope if someone steals it. Or the black plastic piping that people use?

Yah, I did that for little while...was a kinda frustrating at first, because you gotta condition the pigs to knock around the feeder, otherwise they only hang around the bucket...I had to poke holes towards the top of the bucket to let the smell out. When they did knock the feeder around, then they started to come...but somebody who hunt with dogs kept using up my feed, so for me, was poho.

the bucket is prob the best considering the fact that we are on in island that is loaded with thiefs but if you have a hard time getting them to kick the bucket....lol.....just rub hony or syrup on the sides then they will play soccor with it...lol

bucket
I used to use the bucket system but instead i got a one inch dowel maybe3-4 ft. long and then drill a hole a little bigger than it on the bottom of the bucket then run a nail thru one end of the dowel so it sits at the bottom of the bucket....simple and it works.....u hang it and have the dowel touch the ground or couple inches from the ground and put mollasses on the dowel.... the pigs come and hit the dowel with their noses and the corn falls out little at a time.....=)
