Hollywood Foreign Press Association

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) is an organization composed of working journalists who cover the United States film industry for a variety of outlets, including newspapers and magazines in Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. Today, the 90 members of the HFPA represent at least 55 countries and have a combined readership of more than 250 million.[1]

The non-profit organization is best known for its annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony held at the Beverly Hilton every January. The Golden Globes have enabled the HFPA to donate more than $10.5 million in the past fifteen years to entertainment-related charities, as well as fund scholarships and sponsor programs for film and television professionals.[2] In 2009, the group donated more than 1.2 million dollars following the Globes, the largest figure to ever be distributed in the organization's history.[3]

The current president of the HFPA is Philip Berk.
