Those are two shots of the same hog.....the second one I took with my cell phone in the field, and the first was taken once I got her home with a better camera. Those backstraps were TASTY!!!!!!!

Great Job!
Congradulations on the great job!
Chalk up 2 more for the good guys.
Keep up the good work!
No better way to control those pesky pigs than with the direct 'hands on' approach.
Good eats too!

Good Work!
Good work Dean!
Thats a great looking boar, nice coloration and body confirmation. That one should make a nice addition to your collection of fine trophies. Looks like the persistance and patience finnally paid off for you. Great pics too. Maybe that take will have an impact on the much too emboldened herd tearing up the lowland property. I guess we'll see.
My hats off to the Wold Hog Management Team, once again.

My Third Pali Pig
Shot this nice little 'eater' sow yesterday afternoon at 4:45 P.M. at my pig wallow/feeder setup up in the Pali archery area. I passed on this animal and what I assume were her brother and 2 sisters 4 times this week. I got a request from a good friend for some fresh wild hog for a BBQ and decided to try to take a sow. I picked this animal cause, she was always the eyes and ears of the group, quick to sound the alarm and the slightest sense of danger, I guess she wasn't quite quick enough this time however.
I snuck in to the setup at 1200 and walked within 15 yards of the group of four, I was tempted to take a 15 yard broadside shot through some light follage but had a dove bust me before I could pull the trigger, this gave me time to get setup. My feeder is set to go off at 4:20PM and these guys have been showing up like clockwork at 4:30P.M for the past 10 days. The wind was perfect and just as predicted at 4:30 on the dot here come the pigs. I let them feed right underneith me for a few minutes and get settled down. When the sow I wanted stood quartering away at 10 yards upwind I drew back and placed the top sight pin just behind her right ahoulder blade. I released the Easton A/C/C superlight equipted with G5 broadhead and lighted nock and it hit the bulseye. She jumped straight up in the air, did a summersault and 2 rolls before comming to rest 10ft from point of impact. Wow! The broadhead had severed her spinal column and completely shattered 2 vertibrae, paralyzing her from the neck down. After waiting 2o minutes, I realized that I had to finish the job with the knife. I must admit I was a little confused at her behaviour as this was the first big game animal that I've 'spined'. Just looking at the arrow placement I would have bet money that hte arrow was a boiler room shot as I had intended, and I would have been wrong. Guess I gotta aim a little lower next time. I called for back up from a couple of fellow bowhunters and after lashing her to a stick we packed her out in less than 1 hour. Picture perfect hunt. Hopefully this take will not disrupt the activity of the 11 plus other hogs that have been comming into the stand too much. I covered the kill site with a mix of corn, wet cob, and black gold. I guess I'll just have to wait patiently with my fingers crossed.
Much thanks to Stump and John all the help.
Point of impact is in upperleft hand corner!
